Top-Rated Public Golf Courses in Washington, DC

A former Alteon Health senior executive who now serves as president of the Annalex Group, Martin Price pursues a number of hobbies in his free time, including playing golf. As a resident of Washington, DC, Martin Price benefits from easy access to several quality public courses. According to experts at Golf Digest and NBC Sports, the best places where the former Alteon executive can enjoy a round include:

East Potomac Golf Course (Blue)

This Walter Travis design presents ample opportunities to take in sights like the Washington Monument, which many golfers use as a target line. The Blue course itself stretches for 6,599 yards, across which visitors will find a flat layout with open greens.

University of Maryland Golf Course

The University of Maryland Golf Course extends for 150 scenic acres through the Capital Beltway, where it holds distinction as the area’s only championship-level venue. Challenges on the classic parkland-style layout include curved fairways and undulating terrain.

Westfields Golf Club

Golfers can enjoy a tranquil round at this secluded Fred Couples design, located in Northern Virginia. Not without potential stressors, however, Westfields forces players to navigate deep bunkers and forced water carries, among other hazards.

TPC at Potomac.

Martin's home course, however, is TPC Potomac @ Avenel, which has been the site of dozens of PGA events and in 2021 will host the 2021 Wells Fargo Open.
